26th July - Team GB Training, Glasgow (Sat)
Kenny Smith Memorial, Scunthorpe (Sun)
It wasn't the best day for Liam at training, one of those days when the bike had a difference of opinion from Liam, leaving him to come off second best with a few cuts and bruises. The bike is in fine form though - which was all Liam was caring about. 😏
Sunday was better and Liam felt confident to ride on even though he was carrying injury from the previous day. Racing for King's Lynn Young Stars, he hit the fence while in lead and thereafter scored 2, 1, 0 = 3.
He absolutey loved the Eddie Wright Raceway and looking forward to the next time he can get spinning again.

Liam has been invited to join TeamGB Training this coming weekend on Saturday at Glasgow and Kenny Smith Memorial Event at Scunthorpe on Sunday. These training camps are known to be of an excellent standard and Liam is very pleased to be considered for this oppertunity, also very pleased to be getting the chance to race at Scunthorpe, a track he has not yet had the pleasure of racing.
We will update you on progress made soon.

17th July - Glasgow Tigers No. 8, Championship League
Unfortunatley, Liam never got to turn his wheels with the main team just yet, but enjoyed the track walk and parade with his extended team mates, then was very much included in post-meet celebrations. Looks like he gained a few new fans on the terraces too.
Also the Giants never got any track time after due to the Track Doctor being committed. However, they were all up early the following morning for training.
Special thanks to Marshall Racing who all joined Liam's Pit Crew and supported him throughout the weekend. For sure, we would not have managed without you!!
Update from Stuart Coleman, Team Manager:
There was no NJL action last night for the Ashfield Coleman Training Services Giants, but it was a big night for Liam Greens making his first appearance for Glasgow Allied Vehicles Tigers at No8.
This is exactly what the Giants team and NJL is designed to do, developing and giving experience to young riders and promoting them into first team riders, we believe it is working with both Liam and Stene coming on strong and continually improving, both these young riders are knocking on the door for first team places at no7.
Unfortunately Liam never got a ride but the experience is invaluable being part of the first team, with track walks and team meeting, and interaction with the first team. Liam's improvement and progresion this season has been excellent and he fully deserved his call up to the first team. Liam will continue with his hard work and push on and continue to improve and relish another chance representing the first team.

Big night ahead for Liam on Friday 17th July, when he steps up to No. 8 position for Glasgow Tigers against Berwick Bandits, in the Championship League. Our fingers are crossed that he will get the oppertunity to compete in a race for his first taste of championship racing.
He'll then have a quick turn around after the main event to re-group with the Giants, when they take on Berwick Academy to push on for another victory infront of their home crowd. Lets Go Giants.

20th June - Workington Meteors v Ashfield Giants
What a meeting this was - Back on track with Stene Pijper, 'The Mighty 2' got dialled in and gave some intellegent racing to fend off Jack Schmelt and Laylan Richardson. All 4 were well in the mix, with Liam flying out the gate and remaining strong and steady, scoring 5 + 1 (3) with an exceptional win in Heat 3.
One of those days when the whole team clicked.

13th June - Berwick Academy v Ashfield Giants
Sheilfield Park is where the Speedway dream started for Liam as a wee laddie cheering on the Bandits. To now ride the track where he watched his first speedway heroes will always be special to him. All the more so tonight, when he donned the No. 1 Giants race jacket for the first time, heard home and away fans cheer him on, and had old pals around proud to see the rider their lad has grown into.
He also learned what it was like to ride with a puncture, still pulled in the points thou', 4 + 3 (3), partnering Jack Schmelt and racing against Mark Parker for the Academy. An enjoyable night for all and the 3rd win in a row for the Giants.
24th May - U21 Semi Final
Liam now has a beautiful purring engine and was present at Leicester, #17. He wasn't required to ride, but at the very least could still be included with his bike problems resolved.
We can not give enough gratitiude to those who stepped up to help Liam sort out his bike issues without a second thought. From lending kit, donations, suggestions, solutions and reminders to keep his chin up, the support received is unwavered. Without you, this could have been a post about a young rider having to retire too soon.

18th May - Engine Appeal & 1st reserve for U21
Good News and Bad News
We are delighted to share that Liam has been confirmed as 1st Reserve for British U21s Semi-Final at Leicester on Sunday 24th May. (Field to be re-announced soon).
Unfortunately, the clap of thunder and flash of lightening at Ashfield last Friday was indeed, Liam's engine blowing out and it will never turn again.
We are now racing against time to secure new equipment before Sunday. This is an unexpected situation that comes at a far greater cost than we could have been prepared for.
We are very grateful to sponsors and supporters who have stepped up with solutions and donations to help so far. This message is a plea to anyone who may wish to help out or can contribute a donation.
Sorry to have the begging bowl out so early in the season, we are running out of options and time. If you can offer any support please contact us.

15th May - First Win: Giants v Meteors
A night with everything thrown in. Liam was paired with guest Giant, Ollie Binns, and what a pair they made with some very impressive team riding securing 5-1 in all 3 races. Liam secured his first win at a time of 62.29 sec's and was leading in his 3rd race before his engine blew in spectacular fashion with lightening flashes coming from the exhaust and the sound of thunder before the bike grinded to a hault. Special thanks to Liam's Pit Crew who were on the pace all night getting him ready and geared up for such a good night - Cheers lads.
Final Score: Ashfield Giants 22 v 14 Workington Meteors.
